Fibrous dysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP), sometimes referred to as Stone Man Syndrome, is an extremely rare disease of the connective tissue. A mutation of the body’s repair mechanism causes fibrous tissue (including muscle, tendon, and ligament) to be ossified when damaged. In many cases, injuries can cause joints to become permanently frozen in place. Surgical removal of the extra bone growths has been shown to cause the body to “repair” the affected area with more bone.

Tear Through The Cake Icing
Three hundred and sixty five days a year, only one is truly our own.
It doesnt share like Christmas or Halloween, it is selfish and praises us alone.
A day of our birth, being freed from our mother’s womb thus coining the term “Birthday”
A joyous day of celebration or a horrible death display.
He had just turned eight so meek and mild
Mommy Dearest hugged him and said “Happy Birtday chile”
So excited about his party, he thought it would have been so cool
Even while he was rushing, even though he was late for school.
Hour after hour passed, so excited he couldn’t do his test
In between classes and lunch, friends hugged, kissed and wished him the best
At last he was free, he exclaimed “big party a mi yard”
Quickly crossed the street, that rig hit him so hard.
Blood so red like his red strawberry cake
Who would have thought that three days after this one would have been his wake
Everyone shocked, mourning his death, family and friends comforting one another
But no one was as distraught, as his poor helpless mother
Her face aged by grief, her voice croaked by mourn
Flashing back to the day that her son was first born
She cried and bawled, tears of guilt, grief and regret
She said shaking “Ya cyah lef me now, not yet”
Ironic it is, satire is at work
A day of celebration turned to pain filled with the boy’s spilled blood and hurt
Sisters of Fate why are you so cruel? Eight year old deceased
Dear young and innocent soul: “Happy Birthday and Rest In Peace.”
